Sock Burning Shindig

We are excited to announce a new event at Shipwright this spring called the Sock Burning Shindig. It’s one of the Chesapeake Bay’s weird traditions to get together, get barefoot and burn your winter socks. The purpose of the Sock Burning Shindig is to shed your winter socks and celebrate the upcoming spring equinox. It’s time to say farewell to your winter boots and bring your sandals and Sperry’s out of hiding. We will provide beer, wine and sodas. Slipholders bring a pair of socks to burn and meet us at The Point from 3-5 pm to celebrate!
