HURRICANE FLORENCE: Come on down!
We continue to monitor Hurricane Florence. It is expected to make landfall in North Carolina Friday.
In our region, we are expecting potential Tropical Storm force winds, a lot of rain, and tidal surge. We are expecting to start feeling effects of the storm Thursday.
Although we appear to be spared the brunt of the storm, it's still highly recommended to visit your boat between today and Thursday. In the spirit of storm preparation, we are pleased to announce:
FREE BEER STORM PREP!
Free beer will be offered Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday. The cooler will be located outside the bathrooms.
Tips for preparing for a storm include:
- Double up lines so they are adjustable from the dock.
- Add extra lines to multiple points on your boat leaving some slack.
- Remove loose items that are topside.
- Ensure furled sails are wrapped securely.
- Make sure batteries are charged and bilge pumps work properly.
