Bathroom Renovation Commences
We are excited to announce that we will begin the renovation of the bathhouses this week. It will consist of a full blown demo and replace. The end result will be light colored tiles, wood accents, granite counter tops, and comfortable facilities. We expect to complete the project in April.

In the meantime, the Yard Head will be open for the entirety of the project. We'll keep you updated as the project progresses.

The Sinking of the Levin J. Marvel

The Levin J. Marvel was a 125', three-masted ram schooner that sunk in 1955 during Hurricane Connie. This historic shipwreck occurred right here in Herring Bay, in waters you have probably traversed many times. This story has all the makings of a Hollywood Blockbuster hit. There was gut-wrenching tragedy, remarkable heroism, and the story is complete with a courtroom drama that was covered by all the major publications of that era.

For the long version of the story (highly recommended!) check out this article in the Washingtonian.
For a shorter version, read this Baltimore Sun piece.
There's even a song about it: The Levin J. Marvel
